Make-Up Looks for Darker Skin Tones

Makeup is a form of self-expression for many. Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to represent themselves artistically. For decades, brands have been called out for ignoring darker skin consumers. Today, there are a lot more options for those with melanin, hash tag #melananonfleek. Here are some looks our darker complexion sisters can try!

If you are bold and daring when it comes to color, this look may be for you! The eyes have a soft cut crease with a little hint of color. The lips are a glossy ombre to pull the look together. It’s a romantic look you can sport for a date with your special someone.

Red lips are for everyone. The trick is to find the shade that works best with your skin tone. If you are not big on matte lipstick definitely try out a gloss. The model here has on a burgundy gloss paired with lashes for a simple look.

If you are not afraid to rock a bold lip and bold eyes then this might just be your ‘go to’ look. Naomi is seen with a black smokey eye and a strong lip to match. You can always switch out the purple lips if that isn’t your thing.

I did not forget the minimalists out there. If you’re the type of girl that loves to keep it natural, here is something for you. The focus on a clean base or foundation, filled in brows and lots of pink blush. It gives you a natural and effortless look to go about your day.

This is my personal favorite. It’s a subtle ‘baby doll’ glam makeup scheme without going over the top. The eyes have lots of drama with the lashes. The look is paired with pink blush and a glossy lip to soften the results.
